A Week on the Road

Well, that should really be two months on the road – haven’t spent more than 5 days in any one place since leaving Rwanda in mid-August.  Looking forward to a bit of space next week to write up on my retreat with Thich Nhat Hanh at Magnolia Grove Monastery and Bill Plotkin’s new book “Wild Mind”, two reflective experiences that confirmed a few thoughts I had brewing about the difference between volition and vocation.

Just arrived in Kalamazoo and enjoying a good, strong cappuccino at Water Street Coffee Joint.  I am honored and excited to be speaking to various classes tonight and tomorrow at Western Michigan University.  My main lecture on “Breaking into the Social Sector” is tomorrow afternoon (full details here).  Then, I’ll be headed back to Notre Dame for the Irish Impact social entrepreneurship conference.
