A Photo From the Narrow Road South

Congo Nile Trail Near Kibuye

Finished my five-day cycling adventure on the Congo Nile Trail across Western Rwanda.  I can confirm that Rwanda’s “Land of a 1,000 Hills” slogan is absolutely correct – I road up and down approximately 130.

This was taken on Day 2 in between Kinunu and Kibuye.  A group of children raced my Swiss trail companions as we made our rapid descent into a fertile valley fed by Lake Kivu.

Full story (as well as scanned trail map, GPS tracks and so forth for those hoping to plan their own similar trip) coming later this week.

  1. Must have been soooo hard to go up and down those hills! only for seasoned cyclists like you, with “legs of steel”. The picture is so beautiful. Bye muzungu!
