Angkor Wat Half-Marathon and Bike Race

If you’re looking for an excuse to get over to Cambodia, the Angkor Wat Half-Marathon and Bike Race is it – mark your calendars for December 4.  Of the dozen or so times I’ve visited Angkor Wat, it’s the best experience I’ve had exploring the temples.  It’s incredible to ride around the ancient temples as the sun rises – no traffic or tourists, just you and a mix of international and Cambodian cyclists/runners enjoying the crisp morning air.  Here’s to hoping that Lucky can regain the championship after a tight third place finish in 2010 (second picture)!  Also, I hope his 76 year old coach (!) from Kampong Cham joins the race again – every cyclist has to meet this man.
